Dover — The Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announces an increase in fees for multiple services and transactions that will begin in October 2025.
Effective October 1, 2025, the document fee charged when titling a vehicle in the State of Delaware will increase from 4.25% to 5.25%.
Other changes effective October 1, 2025:
• A dealership license renewal fee – $50.00
• A dealership application fee for new dealers – $100.00
• Specialty license plate creation fee for organizations interested in a new background or organizational license plate – $200.00
The below fees will also increase as of October 10, 2025:
• Driver License (new, permit & renewal) – $50.00
• Commercial Driver License (permit) – $10.00
• Commercial Driver License (new & renewal) – $55.00
• Commercial Driver License endorsement – $10.00
• Commercial Driver License restriction – $10.00
• Taxicab endorsement (new & renewal) – $10.00
• Driver License/ID Card name change – $10.00
• Identification Card (duplicate) – $10.00
• “Y” Restriction – $10.00
• Non-CDL A or B (renewal) – $50.00
The fee increase is assessed in accordance with HB164 and will contribute to the cost of road maintenance and improvements throughout Delaware. [More]
