AMES, Iowa – Sept. 9, 2019 – Iowa Department of Transportation officials will be unveiling its new Highway Helper vehicles to the Quad Cities.
WHAT: Press conference to announce the expansion of Highway Helper Program to the Quad Cities and expanded service hours/trucks in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids/Iowa City, and Council Bluffs
WHERE: Iowa DOT maintenance garage, 8723 NW Blvd in Davenport
WHEN: Sept. 11, 2019, at 1 p.m.
Brief remarks will be given by Mark Lowe, Iowa DOT Director, and Tom Kimbro, Iowa Operations Manager for the Highway Helper service provider, AutoBase.
Following the remarks, Highway Helper ride along opportunities for media members will be provided in two Highway Helper vehicles every 30 minutes to those who schedule in advance by contacting Tracey Bramble at tracey.bramble@iowadot.us.
Interviews with Iowa DOT Highway Helper Program Manager Bonnie Castillo will be available to those waiting for a ride-along.
