NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – July 3, 2019 – Bridge deck joint repairs on the Iowa 150 bridge over the Volga River near Fayette will require reducing the roadway to one lane controlled with temporary traffic signals beginning Monday morning, July 8, until mid-August, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s New Hampton construction office.
An 11-foot-6-inch lane-width restriction will be in place during this project.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
