ANKENY, Iowa – July 2, 2018 – The Iowa Department of Transportation’s Ankeny service center will be closed Saturday, July 14 to make building improvements to better serve you.
The service center may also need to be closed a bit early on Friday, July 13 to prepare for the remodeling work. Please check Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/iowadot/), Twitter or Instagram (@iowadot) for closure information if you need to come see us later in the day on July 13.
Our location at River Place, located at 2339 Euclid in Des Moines will be open as usual from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 14 for renewals only. We’ll also have our mobile service center, DOT2Go, at River Place to assist with license and ID renewals.
If you need driver’s license assistance on Saturday, July 14, our full-service Ames and Marshalltown locations will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to provide everything from license renewals to knowledge and drive tests. If you need a drive test, please call ahead for an appointment.
Motorcycle skills testing is done at 9 a.m. in both Ames and Marshalltown. You will need to be there by 8:45 a.m. if you would like to take the motorcycle skills test.

Many people may be able to complete driver’s license business online at www.iowadot.gov or at one of the conveniently located self-service kiosks. Kiosk users should check the host location’s schedule to determine hours and availability.
