DES MOINES, Iowa – Sept. 5, 2018 – A small pavement resurfacing project on Iowa 415/2nd Avenue near Des Moines will require closing the left lane to traffic under Interstate 80 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Des Moines North maintenance garage.
On Sunday, Sept. 9, the exit ramps from I-80 to Iowa 415/2nd Avenue (exit 135) will be closed to traffic from 3:30 a.m. to approximately 11 a.m. The I-80 entrance ramps at this location will remain open during this work.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
