DelDOT response to Hurricane Irene by
Dover — As the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) continues making preparations for the arrival of Hurricane Irene, the public is advised that the storm is already having an impact on the state’s transportation system. “Although evacuation movements are proceeding smoothly – with only intermittent traffic backups reported to this time, DelDOT will be taking action on several fronts to help safeguard the public as the storm draws closer,” said Delaware Transportation Secretary Shailen Bhatt. The Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC), which operates fixed-route DART and Paratransit services across the state, has announced that no services will be operating on Saturday or Sunday. [More]
