Ames, Iowa – Jan. 9, 2018 – Today, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved $4 million in total funding for seven projects from Iowa’s Clean Air Attainment Program. The program was created in 1994 for the purpose of reducing transportation-related congestion and air pollution. This funding is available to cities, counties, state agencies, and nonprofit organizations through an annual application-based program.
The projects and approved funding amounts are listed below.
- #9 Plum Weekday Route Expansion (Ames Transit Agency) – $212,980
- Ashworth Road Adaptive Traffic Signal Control System (West Des Moines) – $263,200
- Euclid/Douglas Avenue Crosstown Service (Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority) – $304,585
- South Grand Avenue Extension (Ames) – $1,800,000
- Traffic Signal System Timings Update (Indianola) – $121,600
- Traffic Signal System Timings Update – Phase 3 (Des Moines) – $160,000
- S. Highway 6 & NW 128th Street Intersection Improvements (Clive and Urbandale) – $1,137,635
