Dover — The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is advising the traveling public that the new ramp from I-95 southbound to Route 1 southbound and Christiana Mall officially opened this morning at 6:30 a.m. Traffic destined for points south along Route 1 will no longer contend with the merging traffic onto I-95 southbound, as well as the dreaded cloverleaf and cattle chute. A new two-lane ramp, constructed by Cherry Hill Construction of Jessup, Maryland, directs traffic from I-95 southbound along an elevated ramp over I-95 with designated lanes for Route 1 southbound as well as for Christiana Mall.
