SIOUX CITY, Iowa – July 19, 2021 – A pavement resurfacing project on the U.S. 20 bypass in Sioux City will require nightly ramp closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday, July 21 – 24, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 3 Office. Ramp closures will be staggered.

Scheduled ramp closures:

Wednesday, July 21

Eastbound U.S. 20

  • Entrance ramp from Lakeport Street
  • Exit ramp to Sunnybrook Drive
  • Entrance ramp from Sunnybrook Drive

Westbound U.S. 20

  • Entrance ramp from Gordon Drive

Thursday, July 22

Eastbound U.S. 20

  • Entrance ramp from Sunnybrook Drive
  • Exit ramp to Morningside Avenue
  • Entrance ramp from Morningside Avenue

Friday, July 23

Eastbound U.S. 20

  • Exit ramp to U.S. 20
  • Exit ramp to Gordon Drive

Westbound U.S. 20

  • Entrance loop ramp to U.S. 20

Saturday, July 24  

Westbound U.S. 20

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
