Iowa Department of Transportation

GRIMES, Iowa – Dec. 5, 2019 – Patching on the eastbound Interstate 80 to westbound Interstate 235 ramp (Exit 137a) requires closing the ramp to traffic overnight beginning at 10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, until 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Grimes construction office.

During this project, motorists can follow a marked detour route (see map).

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
