TO: Licensing Plate Issuing Officials
SUBJECT: New/Redesigned License Plates for Issuance Beginning July 1, 2019

The Colon Cancer Awareness, Prostate Cancer Research, and Thank a Lineman plates have exceeded the minimum required number of pre-commitments and will be available for issuance beginning July 1, 2019. A shipment of plates will be ordered for each county based on the number of pre-commitments. Please note personalized and pre-numbered plates may be ordered on the Plate Reservation and Ordering System (PROS) and additional bulk orders for pre-numbered plates may be ordered using the Alabama Inventory Management System (AIMS) beginning July 1, 2019.

The Letter Carriers, Pink Breast Cancer (formerly Fight Breast Cancer-Joy to Life) and Choose Life (Support Adoption) plates have been redesigned and will be available for issuance beginning July 1, 2019. A shipment of plates will be ordered for each county based on the number of current registrations. The Jefferson State Community College plate was also redesigned and will be available for issuance beginning July 1, 2019. Only Jefferson county will receive a shipment of these plates. Please note personalized and pre-numbered plates may be ordered on the Plate Reservation and Ordering System (PROS), and any additional bulk orders needed may be placed using the Alabama Inventory Management System (AIMS) beginning July 1, 2019. At that time, please remember to remove all license plates with the old design from your shelves and retain them for audit purposes.

Distribution information from the State Comptroller’s office related to the new plate categories will be provided soon.
