SIOUX CITY, Iowa – March 12, 2019 – A bridge and pavement replacement project on the Wesley Parkway ramp to southbound Interstate 29 in Sioux City will require closing the ramp to traffic at 8 a.m. Monday, March 18, until Monday, July 1, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 3 Office. A signed detour (see map) will use Third Street, Pierce Street, Gordon Drive, and Virginia Street.
A pavement replacement project on Floyd Boulevard at I-29 requires closing the roadway to traffic at 8 a.m. Monday, March 25. Motorists will be detoured around the work zone using Virginia Street, Gordon Drive and Dace Avenue (see map) until Monday, July 1.
Godbersen-Smith Construction Company was awarded the $41.8 million road construction project.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
