DelDOT Prepared for Thanksgiving Holiday Traffic / Technology Advancements Continue To Help Holiday Traffic Flow Smoothly by
Dover — The Delaware Department of Transportation will be on the road, in the air, on the air, and working around-the-clock this Thanksgiving Day weekend, the most traveled holiday of the year, to ensure safe and convenient travel for motorists on the State’s roadways. The traditional heavy Thanksgiving Holiday traffic will be served by several technology advances that have been working well throughout 2000 during significant traffic/travel events. The newest section of State Route 1 between the C & D Canal and Odessa (which had been operational for only a few weeks at this time last year) has handled heavy traffic flows exceptionally well all year, and will continue to provide relief from traditional Route 13 “choke-points” at Boyd’s Corner and Route 299 in Odessa.
